Well it’s finally been officially announced, when the day comes you turn on your PS3 and see that Firmware 2.4 is ready to download, you will be greeted with in game XMB and the mythical trophies that have haunted the internet concerning Playstation 3. What are trophies exactly? There hasn’t really been a full blown story on them other than they will be a 3D item you can show off to people (Supposedly once Home comes out), but exactly how you obtain them hasn’t been released. The guess is something similar to the 360′s achievement system. Guess we’ll find out once it’s released.

As for now, if you load up your PS3 (and haven’t done so before reading this post) you will be greeted with the 2.36 Firmware update which:

“…improving system stability when playing select PlayStation format software titles.”

So there you have it for those of you that believed in game XMB was like the cake.
