As promised, yet a little late. Hopefully some of you can understand the dilemma I was abruptly forced under.

To any of you that have ever played Wipeout, don’t come to HD expecting something amazing and new, other than amazing graphics! The levels are redone versions of older levels in previous Wipeout games. Although I don’t exactly remember the zone game mode in previous modes, and zones is a crazy mode. Your goal is to see how many laps you can do, or zones you can make it through, and every, 30 seconds? the entire color scheme of the race changes as you switch zones. On top of that, the speed of the race picks up. So you have to survive as long as you can to see if you can obtain a gold medal.

Probably the most welcome feature I’ve been using was using before the weekend, being able to play online with up to 8 other racers. You can participate in either single races, or tournaments, with as little 2 racers up to 8.

With the harder tiers in campaign mode, online play, trophies to collect, and if you have a HD TV, this will be a welcome game to any fan of the Wipeout series. As I mentioned, if you are picking this up hoping for something amazing and new from the series, you’ll probably be let down. If you however just want to relieve some old moments and play online with others, then you won’t be sorry.

Also, I haven’t experienced any issues with online play, such as lag.

Also, I know Mike was wanting to write up a Mega Man story, so I’ll let him cover that. Now if I can pull myself away from Little Big Planet long enough to write a review about that, you’ll get that soon. (Should be tomorrow)

Isn’t the game only $10 on PSN? For $10, graphics coupled with wipeout seems like a good deal. Sounds like the only concerns I might have (maps, vehicles, gameplay) seem kosher from your review.

After I get done with some demos (namely echnochrome) and some other PSN games I’ve missed (PixelJunk, SuperStardust HD) I might have to hit that up… and thats not including the actual PS3 library I need to hit (Started on Folklore… resistance, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Heavenly Sword) then I might actually get there.

Oh wait… theres also all those cross-platform titles I’ve held off on that I might pick up on PS3. Assassin’s Creed, Force Unleashed. Oh, and games being released, like Fallout 3, Little Big Planet… oh, and anticipated games FF XIII, FF XIII Vs, God of War 3.

Fuck it, chances are I might never touch this save going to your house there Cronus. Oh the joy of breaking this machine in.

For starters, I must say I’ve very upset with the way some plug-ins handle their update issue. As now My box and login name are Blue again on this forum. And it was not easy to track down in order to change them.

Also, yes it is $9.99, and for the price, it is a steal. Plus trophies, if you ever care to try to get them, it’s a fun fun game.

So, yes, come over and give it a go!
