Netflix is a pretty common service now-a-days, so I felt it was a great start to my series. Most of you have probably heard of or may have even used Netflix before. For those few that have not, Netflix is an online streaming and video rental service. If you decide to use Netflix you will get your first month for free. There are several package plans that should suit just about anyone (families) need. The cheapest, the one I use, is $7.99 a month. This allows me to stream videos instantly from the website to my computer or any other Netflix ready device, (i.e. Wii, XBox, PS3) and stream straight to your TV.

The only downfall of the streaming only option, is you are limited only to what Netflix has to offer via streaming, which is to say, not their entire library of video selection. You do however, have unlimited streaming. So if you could find enough things, you could watch movies/tv shows 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every month. Following the streaming option, there are several packages that allow you to have the instant streaming, plus have a one or more DVD’s out at a time. The other packages are:

1 DVD + Streaming – $9.99

2 DVD’s + Streaming – $14.99

3 DVD’s + Streaming – $19.99

4 DVD’s + Streaming – $27.99

If you’re a serious movie buff, then you would probably benefit from any of the other options, however, if you’re like me and just want to fill the void of not having cable television. Then the streaming might be a great idea for you to try. If the option is there and you have a decent internet connection, most movies/tv shows can be streamed in HD, which is one of the bigger reasons why I decided to give Netflix a try. Now it’s been a while since I have used their movie rental feature. Back when I did use it, I could easily say the turn around time on sending a movie in and receiving your next one was averagely between 4-5 days. Typically if I sent the movie back, I would be notified the next day that they have received the movie. Then either that day or the next I would get a notice that my next movie was being shipped out. Of course this didn’t happen every time like that, but enough I would say 9/10 times it worked that way.

I would like to express that I, in no way work for Netflix or am trying to encourage others to use their service. I enjoy providing information to others and try to help them make any decisions that they may have had. Have any services you’ve been curious about? Leave a comment and I’ll look into it. Come back tomorrow for my review on Gamefly.

I went to the midnight showing of the newest comic book inspired movie The Incredible Hulk. One thing I’ve been hearing all week is how bad the first movie was, and how nobody cared about this film – and this was reflected by the half empty midnight showing. Its regrettable, because the movie was pretty much what I wanted from a Hulk movie. What do I want? Smashing. Lots of things smashed.

They definitely are going with a movie continuity based more off The Ultimates comic series. I suspected as much when Nick Fury after the credits of Iron Man was portrayed as black. Also, Banner was working on the Super Soldier project while transformed and not a gamma bomb. Im sure many more nuances exist I didnt catch. It’s a good series – a great series even. Their take on Galactus as a hive mind species in Ultimate Galactus. The comic series is extensive enough to provide material for a ton of movies.

The obvious tie in to Iron Man, and the already announced Thor, Captain America, and Avengers movies really put pressure on this film to be really good. I feel like a weak link in these movies could drag down the amazing potential these movies have to be epic. Iron Man set the bar really high – I was reluctant to make a statement like ‘Best Comic Movie Ever’, but I can say pretty comfortably it was my favorite. The Hulk, however, holds its own, and might even be better the 2nd time around. I’ll have to make the call when both are out on Blu-ray… and I get a PS3. Until then, Im giving the Hulk 4 1/2 ripped purple pants out of five.

Bottom Line: FORGET the last Hulk movie… this is a whole new Hulk. Better villain, better CGI, better pacing, better action. Whether you hated the last Hulk movie, or just thought it was bad, this one will not put the same tast in your mouth. NO poorly done daddy story… no Hulk jumping across states in something looking out of an IMAX theater.
